An X user, Uthman Isa Tochukwu, has paid tribute to Abdulsalam Ude, a colonel with the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) who was killed after resisting an abduction attempt at his residence in Abuja, describing him as a teacher of the Qur’an who had memorised the entire Quran, according to reports from TheCable.
Tochukwu said the late military officer was a Hafizul Qur’an, had mastered the Arabic language, and was due for promotion to brigadier general next year — a rank no Igbo Muslim had attained in the military. Ude was killed on Monday at about 10:45 pm at his residence in Phase 5, Army Housing Estate, Kurudu.
