The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has reported that electricity distribution companies billed N250.79 billion in July 2026 but collected only N205.53 billion.
According to Premium Times, the DisCos received energy valued at N333.94 billion, achieving 75.10 per cent billing efficiency and 81.95 per cent collection efficiency.
Eko DisCo recorded the highest revenue recovery at 94.67 per cent, while Kaduna DisCo had the lowest at 39.71 per cent. NERC said billing efficiency declined by 1.14 percentage points from June, while collection efficiency improved by 2.25 percentage points. Metering gaps and infrastructure problems continue to undermine the sector.
