Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has addressed critics of his ₦9 billion custom 1-of-1 Bugatti Chiron purchase during a freestyle at the Afronation concert in Portugal.

Critics had berated him for spending extravagantly on “vain things” instead of investing or giving to charity, and for importing the vehicle to a country without good roads.

In his freestyle, Burna Boy fired back: “I buy Bugatti, dem ask which road I go drive am? No be today we dey do road like Julius Berger.” The purchase comes after last year’s controversy where socialite Sophia Egbueje accused him of reneging on a promise to buy her a Lamborghini.
