The Presidency has denied claims that Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila received N400 million through a proxy and demanded an additional N200 million to secure appointments, according to DAILY POST.
In a statement, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said Gbajabiamila “cannot write letters or give appointments,” adding that such powers are the exclusive preserve of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The statement identified Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed to be director-general of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, as a “con artist” operating a fictitious agency. Adeyemi was arrested in October 2025 and faces an eight-count charge at the Federal High Court. The police investigation found he operated 34 bank accounts and fraudulently opened a CBN account. His court date is July 27.
